Four Oh

It’s my birthday today. The end of another decade – and what a decade it’s been.

I was planning to write a whole long post, going through my thirties and everything I’ve accomplished, both personally and professionally, and even reflect on the lessons I’ve learned along the way.

But that felt… too small, too insufficient to encapsulate it all.

Besides, I’ve got no energy to look back. Not that I’m suddenly above sentimentality or anything like that. It’s just that it feels like everything this year is building towards a culmination of some sort, of a journey that began for me back in 2014 when I first became a published writer.

Maybe, once this year’s done, I’ll take a moment, not to reminisce, but to properly appreciate everything I’ve had and done – so that I can keep moving forward.

For now though, the Worlds Apart promotional train keeps moving on.

Jannah and I’ll be conducting a workshop on how you can create your own mental health-focused comic ‘zine this Sunday. We’ll be speaking about the comic-making process, but I’ll also talk a little about what it means to write about mental health. If you want to join us…
